Style Guides online & videoes

Lately I've been visiting some style guides online such as "Real Men, Real Style" and "The Art of Manliness" for advice on choosing, buying and building a wardrobe. Also watching a few instructional videos on YouTube from learning how to tie a bowtie, (happy to report I can finally tie a bowtie!) to picking the right pants to wear with a navy blazer. I would like to know of some good and bad sites you folks are familiar with. BTW, I would like to know the bad sites so I can do comparisons against the good ones. Thanks for the help.

Anything magasines and their websites are going to be, in general, bad. They are too beholden to advertisers, and they are driven by the need to put *new* information in each issue. IF you want to look trendy instead of stylish, this is your place to go.

There are discussion forums (fora, I guess) out there. I'm familiar with Styleforum ... um, it's "like" B&B except the inmates run the asylum. Hey, maybe you dig that, man. (And of course, there is no guarantee that you will get "good" advice, just lots of it. Once you get your bearings, and your thick skin, you can survive pretty well.)

About the only place (other than here) I go nowadays for style commentary is A Suitable Wardrobe. The advice there will seldom steer you wrong, is inherently stylish in a conseraative, middle-aged sort of way that still translates well to younger wearers (who do not wish to be like their GQ-reading peers).

Michael Williams @ acontinuouslean has already done all the hard work for you. Not only does he run a phenomenal style/fashion blog, he links to dozens of other very worthy sites. It should be on your every day radar.
