The test shave went fairly well. As I expected, the razor shaved only slightly less efficiently than a stock GD66 honed strictly by The Method. It was perhaps slightly more comfortable. Hard to say. It did work, though, and some time in the coming week I will select a vintage with better geometry than the GD, and see how it does. Anyway the shave on a single day's growth was mostly DFS with some spots merely SAS and the chin closer to BBS, in one pass. Everything above the jawline was mostly WTG. I have to say that I think strict adherence to The Method gives a better edge, and a Method edge requires only three balsa strops and one extra acrylic plate for film or sandpaper. So initial setup of the all balsa system costs more than The Method.
