I have been using my matching seven-day set over the past few weeks and, inter alia, I have noticed that when stropping a blade before shaving, there is a noticable change in the "feel" of the stropping. This change tends to occur between about lap 40 to 50. I then do a further 10 to 20 laps before finishing and shaving.
By the term "feel", I mean that the draw becomes lighter and the sound almost disappears.
