Stripping the gold. Gillette Tech

So my Tech has seen better days. Handle is almost silver already. I like silver much better than gold personally.

I'm thinking about just trying to strip it down, but the head almost appears like its brass under the gold? Is this accurate?

Anyone know the best way to strip it?

Aqua Regia! You probably will not have much razor left though.

You will hit brass! One some models it's copper or pot metal. Maas or Blue Magic will gently strip it down to the base metal. Brasso will strip it down quite easily too.

If you prefer silver, why don't you just buy a silver Tech? They're only about 10-15 bucks. Maybe somebody would even trade a silver one for your gold one; you never know.

If it has sentimental value you could re-plate it in Rhodium and have it looking like this
