I've been using Striped Iyoto to set bevels as part of my all-natural jnat progression for a while now. This particular stone was consistently +/- 800 grit, now it's +/- 3K. I lapped about 2mm off and it's still +/- 3K. I'm hoping she goes back to normal soon.

The bottom is in terrible shape.
That sounds really inconvenient...
Funny thing, naturals are.
If it was my stone - I might try something crazy that makes no sense.

Something crazy? Cleave the stone? That would be pretty crazy.
None of the above.
I might try to dry the stone out in the oven. Carefully. Low heat, door open, warm the stone with a light bulb before putting it in there & let it cool in the oven with the door shut. Might let it sit in there for a couple hours to cool down completely.
