Strictly soap users?

I think I am done with creams for the most part. I will keep some tubes of Musgo around because I love the scent of the classic and the Oakmoss, but other than that, I think I'm done.

No matter what creams I try and how many times I try them, I never get the same quality shave that I do with soaps. I have found no creams that can compare to MWF, Valobra, Palmolive and MDC. Some come close, but my face is always left feeling less than moisturized and I always feel like my lather is plain yogurt instead of Greek.

Maybe it's all in my head. Anyone else strictly using soaps and no creams?

The only cream which I have left is a tub of DRH which was shipped to me in error when I ordered some soaps a while back. It is yet to be opened.

I feel the same way about shaving with soap- not to mention the fact that a soap stick is a perfect companion for your travels.

I am an all soap guy as well. I have narrowed things down to Vintage OS , Cella , Tabac. and Palmolive stick grated in an OS mug and Proraso soap. I got decent shave from creams , but better from soaps..

I tried a cream once and will probably pick some up for my son when he starts as I don't see him using a soap. He does have a cased Krona waiting for the fuzz to be too much for the cat to lick off.

I started with creams and am moving into soaps. I might keep 1 favorite cream around the final stable but otherwise it's soaps for me.

I only use soap. Occasionally a cream falls into my lap for a good price but normally I'll just buy soap.

All soap guy here also apart from one recently bought cream- proraso red. Mikes still has the upper hand on everything i have tried though.

Soaps only for me as well. My favorites are Tabac, Mike's Natural, and the Palmolive shave stick, but I've got quite a few others around that I use from time to time as well.

I used creams for 20+ years till I discovered B&B and some of the soaps you mention (esp MWF). Creams have their strengths - but when it comes to performance - it's no contest (so far)

No creams. I've only tried one cream, AoS Sandalwood, and I loved the scent but it dried my face out pretty harshly. It also felt like it had no protection compared to a soap. But the main reason I have given up on the creams after only one is that it just isn't as fun and fulfilling for me as creating lather off of a hard puck of soap.

All soap for the first 6 months and now the creams are over taking them. Nothing to do with performance or lack of it for me just like a variety.

I have one cream, Proraso Blue, but hardly ever use it. I only have it for the scent. The performance is nowhere near that of my soaps.

I'm soap only as well. They do seem like they perform better, plus I just like the vibe of a puck of soap at the bottom of a mug.

I was a mostly cream guy for a long while, but have switched sides over time. I'm using up the last cream stores I have, then it'll be all soap all the time. My shaves are consistently better and my post-shave face is happier.

YMMV, but I think not :wink2:.

The stick grated into a puck works great for me.
Better than the stick as it was intended for.
I face lather mine.
