Strange razor

Bought the other day this strange three piece DE. It's silver. Cleaned it by the alum foil and baking soda method. Acronym D.R.G.M.( Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster)written on the bottom of the comb. Any thoughts or info about this type.

What are those secondary posts for? Adjustment?

I bet if there were springs there between the small posts and collar thingy, you could loosen the handle a bit without it falling off.

I don't see any need for the secondary posts. But they look very cool indeed and it's fun to assemble the razor.

Are they threaded? As it is, I don't see a need for them either, so I must assume that there is something missing (springs, for example)

They appear to be holding the head, maybe so it doesn't spin? Look at the top of the handle, you can see the clips that hold onto those posts.

Yes, this seems is the case.

That's a very clever design. In most razors, the bottom of the head is press-fitted to the handle. Sometimes, it comes loose, which is annoying. Can't happen with this design.

Right. Initially I thought there was no need for the two additional posts, but the design is indeed very clever. I hope someone knows more about this type of razor.

it german made razor, its pre ww2...drgm means =equivalent to "patent pending" that appeared on German manufactured items made before the end of WWII. -- D.R.G.M. (Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster)

Looks like it's just tension-fit over the two prongs. Nifty.

Can't believe nobody has seen a similar razor.

I would say because of the length of those secondary posts there were small springs that would give this razor qualities similar to an adjustable
