Hello everyone! I recently purchased this razor but can't find anything about it. I am new to collecting razors, but so far the others I have are easily identifiable. By the looks of the corrosion it has been around the block a few times, but the logo looks relatively new. To add to the confusion there is a Rex Supply Company that sells new razors, which I believe to be different from this one. I would greatly appreciate any information you all might have on this razor. I am looking for age, designed use (trimming, hair parts, or anything other than shaving), etc... Thanks.

It is a Rex No. 42 Razor. I believe it was made in Sweden at Eskilstuna.

That thread is what brought me here! I wasn't sure if my razor was at all related. There isn't much else out on the web for info on this razor, not that I can find. An approximate age of the razor is what I am most interested in finding.
Ballpark guess, 20's.
Scales are interesting for dating, take away the third pin and I would have said it's rather older given they're wood and the way the pins have rusted.
However the third pin brings the age up, and the wood quality, bright and vibrant as opposed to utilitarian as earlier wood scales tended to be.
I'd agree with the 20s estimate at the low-end, and guess it to be 30s, 40s at the high end.
I like the dating game as the history of these things is so cool, though I welcome the experience of this board to correct me as I've got a fleas experience compared to others here

What throws me on this razor is the REX logo. I could be wrong, but that logo doesn't look like something from the 20s.
