Storing my shaving den under bathroom vanity

Do any of you have to store your shaving items under the vanity? Our master bathroom doesn't have a medicine cabinet, shelves, or over toilet cabinet. I am thinking I could do something under the vanity to give me a lot of space to expand. Our vanity in that bathroom is 36 inches wide. The other bathroom has a 72 in wide vanity, but I don't shave in there. Also, SWMBO does not want shelves in the bathrooms.

Thanks,

Mark

That's where I have my stuff, meager as it is. Inevitably you have to stack things, so it's a good idea to get organized ahead of time for the eventuality of product AD and get stackable containers. I thought about a shelf, but it seems more trouble than it's worth.

Yep, same kind of bathroom here. The vanity has two sinks, two cupboards, and three drawers in the center. I use one cupboard to store the shave den contents.

Any suggestions on a good setup for a 36 inch wide vanity? I am thinking of those plastic drawers that have three drawers per module. They just don't seem conducive to storing aftershaves since they are a little taller when standing.

Just make sure that it is plenty dry under there.
Wouldn't want to waste a soap or blades.

I store my Blades in the Bed room on top of my dresser in a Tin John Deere box. I store some other stuff in a unused Dresser Drawer and the daily use stuff under the sink.

I have those plastic drawers, but I bought the kind that are individual and stackable. I have 8 of them, in two stacks of four.

I keep first-aid items in one drawer, colognes in a second drawer, spare blades in a third drawer, collectible razors in a fourth, etc ... set it up anyway you want.

The key is to have ONE drawer on top that contains your current rotation gear, including razor / brush / soap / cream /ASL /ASB, etc. When you're ready to shave, just pull out that ONE drawer, set it on the countertop, do your thing, then put it back when you;re done.

Obviously, the contents of this ONE drawer will vary as the seasons change, you get new gear, experiment, etc. The important thing is to get it all your active stuff into ONE place for ready access, instead of pawing through four or five drawers when you need to set up your SOTD.

Another option is to install wire shelves on the inside of the cabinet door, in addition to the aforementioned drawer system for storage. This will keep your current stuff handy when you need it, and out of sight when you don't need it.

I have a John Deere Tractor, so that is appealing! :001_smile

Our problem is that we do not have any unused dresser drawers.

The other bathroom is 100% lotions and things for my wife, so I am looking toward this bathroom for equality, although we both brush our teeth in this bathroom.

I thought about biting the bullet and buy a wall cabinet for over the toilet. I am just trying to avoid spending that kind of money until I find a full time job.

I've got a three drawer plastic storage dingus under the vanity. I also have several shoeboxes, and a couple of Dopp kits for under vanity storage.

I get to use some counter space for open storage. A healthy chunk of the active rotation of AS and colognes is in a painted breadbox.

Many of the razors have moved from the bathroom to a piperack in the office for display.

I will keep expanding, but I'm starting to have to get creative in doing so.

My razor and brush get to sit on top of the vanity on a stand, so I just need to conceal all the AS, Shaving cream, Witch Hazel and blades. Under the vanity is my only logical place unless I put a cabinet on the wall, which I am trying to avoid right now.

I have a stand that holds my DE and brush and I get to keep my Dirty Bird Scuttle on the bathroom counter, but other than that everything is under the sink.

I leave my razor, brushes, and scuttle on top of the sink. The rest is under the sink, first shelve in a couple of drawers, or in a container on the second shelve under the sink. But I do know where everything is. :w00t:

Our bathroom is small (married student housing) and largely colonized by SWMBO, though I managed to get a scuttle and MWF on the counter.

The rest of it goes in a six-drawer office organizer from OfficeMax with one big drawer for soaps and creams, another for aftershaves and colognes, and then four smaller ones with samples, blades/razors (too wet to keep straights in the bathroom), brushes, and hardware (hones, toothbrushes, leather restoration oils).

I'm hoping we move to a two-bath in the summer, after graduation.
