Stirling’s Sheep - Legendary

I've heard it actually smells like sheep, not sure how pleasant that would be.

There's the slightest barnyard scent when you load it, but it's gone by the time you are building the lather. It's no worse than the smell of "unscented" Canada Shaving Soap in my opinion, which has a slight moldy scent for the first few moments you're lathering.

I think of Sheep as very lightly "Autumn" scented :)

Stirling is a legend in the community for a reason. Premium soap at a reasonable price. I usually use the unscented with beeswax, but I plan on using sheep today. Stirling is such a great company.
They really are.
They're a terrific example of how a small business should be run. Great quality, great prices, wonderful service, little extras, always innovating.

I shaved a fortune
I am in now way criticizing those who use soaps with no scents.
But to me, one of the joys of shaving since I switched to traditional methods is the different scents such as Barbershop, Bay Rum, Sandalwood, etc.
Again, no criticism whatsoever. But I don't think I'd enjoy shaving as much without that extra little kick in the morning (even though, truth be told, my sinuses are so bad I often can't smell what I'm shaving with anyway!)
I do wish my skin allowed me to use scented soaps.... My wife loved the scents I was using when I first started wet shaving and I did too... But, alas, my skin started reacting... bad enough to send me to my dermatologist...

Ugh. I hear ya, brother. That stinks. But it is what it is and I totally understand it. 🍺

My tub of Stirling Sheep showed up this morning, and naturally, I had to try it out. Definitely noticed the slight “gamey” scent that a lot of people have mentioned here, but it didn’t really bother me as I didn’t purchase this particular soap for it’s scent. My wife loves the smell of my Aqua Velva and Proraso aftershaves much more than any of the scents from my soaps. I purchased this soap because of all the rave reviews about its performance, and boy oh boy did it ever perform! The brush whipped up the shiniest, slickest lather I’ve yet to experience. Great post shave feel to top it all off. Outstanding stuff and a huge bargain at 30 Canadian dollars for a tub delivered right to my door. Stirling embodies everything a company should be. Great prices, superb products, and by all accounts from members here, top notch service.

2nd shave yesterday evening with Stirling Sheep. Went for a bit more hydration in the lather to see how far it can be pushed. It was even better than the first shave. Incredibly slick lather and still more than adequate structure and cushioning to it. It basically took all the drag out of my Henson medium, something I have yet to experience with any other soap. Woke up this morning with my face still feeling soft and hydrated. I’m so impressed with this mutton tallow base that I ordered two bars of the Sheep bath soap yesterday evening from Top of the Chain.
