Sticky mod

Hello,

had a cracked handle and other problems, so passed on it a year ago, but found it again and being dirt cheap, bought it for spares. Then though why not, and replaced the “sticky” part with mahogany. It’s not perfect, but works and looks good enough.

:detective: It's very nice, but what are we looking at, exactly? o_O
Was this a razor that originally had wood on the handle, and you replaced it with mahogany?
Is the wood and part of the head all one piece, with a metal base plate glued to it?

Thank you all. John, it started life as a plastic handle Wilkinson Sticky, I replaced the plastic with a block of mahogany. The base plate is glued into it, the rest of the mechanism was left untouched.

Thank you. It's sealed with a couple of coats of CA (superglue). Although mahogany is very resistant to water, some parts are thin and could crack.
