Since I've been shaving with a DE I have been very good at not cutting myself. Every once in a while a nick here or there, but for the most part I've been blood free. This morning my mind was elsewhere. I wasn't paying attention and cut the **** out of myself! I took a chunk out of my nostril! I couldn't believe it. I've seen youtube videos where folks warn against cutting your nostril and I thought, "how could someone do that?" Now I know.

I guess this is a lesson for myself and anyone who learns from other peoples mistakes- when you think you don't need to pay attention, you do.

I hit my ear the other day when I was going for top of my jaw/neck area there. I thought Crap! and paused for the blood. But no sting. The blade missed me. But you're right.

Soft skin with a bunch of angles, hyper sharp blade installed in a mini hammer handle... What could go wrong? It's character building!

I just did the same thing a few weeks ago. In a hurry and forgot about "no pressure". Took a hunk right out of the bottom of my nostril on the left side. And boy did the blood run. I gotta say...a steptic pencil really burns right there!!

Yeah, I caught the nostril with the corner of the blade once. It definitely wakes you quickly.

Been there. I always have trouble around my nose, have considered growing my mustache again.

getting careless has cost me a few open cuts. Worst was on my upper lip on a new razor. I like the fat stypic pens. They do well but on those deep cuts you have to hold the wound so the blood can ind up.

Well at least it is consistent, no playing "cut, cut, where's going to be the cut." I haven't caught my nostril or my ear but I always seem to have a pimple or two that get caught, nothing new for me (even when I tried electric or used cartridges I had this issue) only now I have Alum that I use. The closest I came to getting my nostril was when shaving my upper lip the other day and coughed while mid stroke, luckily I ended up with a weeper

I was reminded yesterday that while shaving nicks burn, at least facial wounds don't usually hurt much... This as I stuck my hand in my desk drawer and ran a pushy pin the full depth under my fingernail!! Colorful language ran through my head although I was able to muzzle myself for the benefit of the other office occupants!

I have never cut my actual nostril but have cut the lower edge of my nose right were it goes into the opening. Trying to get those stray hairs up there with newbie technique. I have to say those were the most painful cuts I've had, other than cutting the edge of my upper lip horribly as someone else mentioned.

I learned to go S to N on my upper lip area and can get the razor to those places much easier. Since I started using this technique I haven't cut myself up there again. I will occasionally get a weeper on my mustache area, but that's it. Watch, now that I said this I will cut the crap out of my nostril area in the next week. You guys have jinxed me I'm sure.
