staining on blade and i cant remoove it? help D:

so i bought my second ever straight a couple days ago for 15$. looking at it in the shop the blade looked great except for a little tarnish. i got it home and cleaned it with some dish soap first then some silver polish , for some reason i cant get the staining off the blade. i have tried searching but all i can seem to find is to use silver polish. any help would be greatly appreciated , thank you !

Try a metal polish like Flitz, or Meguire's wheel polish. If that fails a buffer or sandpaper and elbow grease may be needed.

the blade says "our 136" if that helps

Assuming that it is a razor that you want to use, rather than a showpiece, a little bit of staining is not a problem--gives it character. What is important is the edge.

Get some 180-2000 sandpaper grits..start at 220 light rubbing..if it doesn't improve go 180..tape the etching until you get to 600grit for that area on the blade

the sanding is working very well , im just worried that by sanding it will tarnish again very quickly?

I've had some good results using high grit Wet N Dry paper in combination with a metal polish.
same here some 1200 and some polish works great ive used that to take some tarnish off a bengall.

by the way John the scales i made are doing on the near wedge boker you sent.

this is after about 10 mins of gentle sanding with 600 grit wet/dry paper

it shouldn't tarnish any faster when you're done, assuming you go high enough in the grits that water won't get trapped in scratches. 1500 or 2000 followed by any metal polish should be fine.
Can you get Mothers mag and alluminum polish there? Check an automotive store, they usually have a ton of choices for metal polishes for rims

Nice looking razor, looks like a great score for $15. I am not sure where you are but I found some MAAS at Home Hardware, so if you have one near you it might be worth a look.

When you get it all polished up, make sure you protect the blade somehow. You can use oil, which needs to be applied often. I use silicone gun & reel cloths, which lasts a bit longer. I just reapply when I touch up the edge. There's also a vendor who sells silicone cloth socks (like a mini gun sock) that's supposed to work really well for preventing corrosion.
