Anyone tried Straight Razor Designs' own soaps? I'm particularly looking at the Opus X and the Bay Rums.
I haven't tried those particular scents, but I have their Bulgarian Rose soap. It's one of the best glycerin soaps I own. The quantity & quality of the rose oil they use imparts something really special to the shave.
I also have a bunch of samples of their other scents. So far I've only used the vanilla. And while it smelled great, I was less than impressed by the shave. But again, their Bulgarian Rose soap really is something special.

Yeah, I tried using Col. Conk's bay rum yesterday.. great scent, but what a worthless soap. That's the thing: I want a really good soap, but the scent is a big factor for me. I couldn't shave with that stuff.
I've heard the rose oil vastly improves the lubrication but I'm not into rose, plus that Bulgarian Rose stuff is expensive lol... I burn through soap like crazy, I went through more than 6 in my first year. Besides, I just bought a Braithwaite wallet, not in the market for $50 shave soap this month....
Lemme know how the shave goes if you ever get to the Opus and Bay.

Opus X did not do much for me a bit too sweet. The Bay Rum is a keeper
