squeezing tube cream into a jar?

Anyone ever squeeze shaving cream from a tube into a jar for storage? I hate using the tube because I don't feel like I have as good control over how much I put on the brush.

Any reason I shouldn't do this?

Thanks.

I don't put the cream from the tube directly on the brush. I always put a small amount in a bowl / mug and beat to a lather.

But -- I like the idea of moving it over to a jar for easier storage. I hate looking at tubes that are crinkled / bent / folded etc... I would do it just for aesthetics 8)

I face lather which is why i put it directly onto the brush.

i don't think it gets any easier than dropping a fingernail size dab from the tube. on the other hand, my Bigelow tube has a crack and now squirts cream if you squeeze the wrong way

Sounds like you need a few tube keys:

This could help with the control problem also. I use a key with my tom's toothpaste (also has a metal tube) and am able to hold the tube and turn the key with one hand.

I'm ordering some creams in tubes, and will transfer them to jars almost immediately.

I can't stand the way tubes look, I find jars/tubs much more classy. In my mind - tubes are for toothpaste and ointments.

I don't transfer the entire tube, but do transfer to a sample size jar. It conserves space in my bathroom to just have the sample size jars in the cabinet. Each jar gives me about 5-7 shaves, so this works out quite well.:tongue_sm
