Spray dispenser

I came across such a spray dispenser or vaporizer while browsing for new aftershaves.

Have you used this or a similar item before? It is supposedly meant for larger aftershave bottles. Is the aftershave vaporized or does it distribute drops/splashes? So far I used aftershave just with my hand.

Honestly, I've never understood the purpose of the spray nozzle aftershaves. It depends on the spout but all the sprays I've used have been atomizer type sprays (similar to a cologne spray). I just sprayed it onto my hand and then applied to my face. I didn't like the idea of coating my eyes in AS.

The atomizer creates a spray of fine droplets. The idea is to make it easier to dispense a consistent amount, especially with the larger bottles. Spraying onto the hand and then applying it is OK. Aftershave is more effective when rubbed in.
