Spoiled By the Feather

So I got my first pack of feathers a couple of weeks ago, along with a bunch of others, from Pasteur's.

First out of the box was the Feather, which blew me away. After four or five days with it, I threw in an Israeli Personna. In comparison with the Feather, it pulled and skipped so much that I ditched it mid-shave. Then I threw in a Dorco to finish the shave, based suggestions I've read that the Dorco is near feather in sharpness. I threw out that Dorco in the middle of my shave today and went back to the feather. Immediate and drastic improvement in the smoothness and lack of pull.

So my question, is there anything else that comes close to the Feather in sharpness? I still have a number of other blades to try (Derby, Gillete etc) but at this point I don't see using anything but the Feather.

You put in a Dorco after the Israeli Personna? I think the Feather are the sharpest blades around. Why did you put the dorco blade in? I think the IP are sharper than Dorco.

Also, the Dorco St301 is well known for smooth but not sharp as the feather.

Depending on the razor you use! I think if you have a mild razor and use a feather blade, you will be happy with results. Also depends on your type of beard.

i haven't used one yet, but i've heard that the Irridium super (i think) is as close to Feather as it gets (however the shave is supposed to be smoother with the Irridiums)

Probably not... Gillette 7 Oclock SharpEdge (yellow pack), Irridiums and Gillette Bleue Extras are close seconds...

Feathers are great blades; I but them by the 100 pack. I think that Kai is a close second, but they are hard to find unless you buy them by the 100s on ebay.

I know they fly under the radar for most but I find BIC blades almost as sharp as Feathers.

Thanks for the feedback. I did a quick search and found 10 Kai and 10 Feather blades on Amazon for 10 bucks, free shipping (at least with Prime), so I pulled the trigger. Will report back on the Kai.
