This is an older razor and there is some text on the spine I cannot make out. I’m not sure that the attached pictures will help much but hoping maybe someone has come across a razor like this before and may recognize what was written on the spine. Tang is marked SUPERIOR TEMPER and stamped with GR with crown dating it to around 1820s if I recall what I googled up before. But it is the text on the spine I am seeking help with please. Thanks in advance.

Update: I believe this to say “Magnum Bonum”. There were a few makers that seem to have similar if not identical razors but with different makers marks including Marsden and W&B.

You could always try and do a paper rubbing on it, like folks do with hard to read tomb stones... might bring all the letters out clearly.
