Well Gents,
Tested this product today finally, using my trusty little DR Harris silvertip, EJ Gold Razor (loaded with a feather) and finished with the gentlemens refinery ASB.
Usually i Gauge how well a product does, by how badly i need to use an aftershave afterwards to "calm the fire". Im not sure if its because i havent used a feather blade in a while but my face was certainly irritated (particularly from the alum block feedback). Anyway..
Ingrediants:
Potassium Stearate, Potassium Palmitate, Potassium Cocoate, Glycerin, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Palmitate, Sodium Cocoate, Potassium Myristate, Cetyl Palmitate, Beta Vulgaris (Beet) Root Extract, Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Valeriana Celtica Extract, Poria Cocos Extract, Phragmites Kharka Extract, Parfum, Potassium Laurate, Sodium Myristate, Sodium Silicate, Sodium Thiosulfate, Citral, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool
This cream is actually labelled "Vegan" as well ..
I tend to stick with more natural products, as I feel the same great results can be achieved "naturally" . Plus it also limits my selection from the market which pleases SWMBO
Face lathered as usual, the cream seems a bit more liquidy and does not have that pinkish hue that that the traditional cream has. It seemed to be a bit tricker to get a nice rich lather than the original too , but could have just been that day. It did last for a good 3 pass shave and had some more to go.
The scent really was lacking for me, i expected a bit more of a citrus tone, however it almost feels like its an unscented cream to me. I really had to "look" for a scent , fairly mild and neutral.
Again shave wise, the alum block stung alot, i had a few little nicks on my neck too , more than ive had in months, and how fast i went for my aftershave after rinsing the alum indicated to me that It did not protect me very well
Ill be giving this cream a few more tries and update this thread accordingly, but on first impression the classic is a better performer and has a nicer smell to me
Thanks for reading
Edit:
Folks who like unscented creams would probably not mind this , as its subtle.. also my face feels rather good a few hours later, will definately try this a few more times and update with each shave. Im thinking my lack of respect torwards the feather ended up in my nicks..
Edit 2:
"100% free from synthetic fragrances and colours, preservatives, silicones, parabens and mineral oil-based ingredients."
