Speick Bath Soap

I wound up with a free sample from one of my purchases. I liked the smell so much I purchased 3 bars, a shave stick and the aftershave splash. I know some people do not like the smell of Speick, YMMV. I have been enjoying great shaves using these items.

I was reading a thread about cheap products and someone posted how good the bath soap was, this was in the midst of lots of suggestions for cheap shaving soap. Still being new to wet shaving I will still try to lather anything. I have soft water so I don't have some of the problems others do.

It works! It lathers up, and the lather hangs around. I grabbed my razor and shaved with it. It is not as slick as the shaving stick and my face felt a little drier before AS but you can shave with it.

At half the cost of the shaving stick, so far this seems to be a good alternative to the stick.

Anyone else crazy enough to lather up with Spieck bath soap?

Ivory has also been successfully used as a shave soap when applied as a stick. There was some $3 a bar soap out of Dollar General that was also used successfully. Unfortunately most bath soaps do not make good shaving lather. I will provisionally add Speick to the the mental list of passable bath soaps for shaving use.

No way. The bath soap is my favourite...for the bath!
Just looking at the foam is produces, I would never shave with it. Especially when the fantastic shave stick exists.
The Speick shave stick is so good, it's in my rotation of just four shave soaps.

I also own the full line of Speick, bath soap, shave stick and aftershave. I would stay away from shaving with the bath soap as it is not designed for shaving. It will really dry your skin out. The shave sticks are cheap enough to justify the couple extra bucks and your face will thank you in the long run

Shave stick is fantastic, so I don't think I'd ever consider using the bath soap instead. I too like the scent, though.

The shave stick is all of $5. Not in anyway expensive. It's tallow based as well, so it should last a good long while.

I am not going to give up a whole lot of comfort, just to save a dollar or two. Most of us wouldn't: were not looking for the most economical shave, were looking for the best shave.

I agree with all of you. But I will hold on to my slivers maybe make a mad scientist experiment with Unscented VDH.
