Spec me out a face lather brush

What specs would you gents recommend for a great face lather w/soap brush?
Knot size, hair quality, loft, shape? Handle size?
Thank you.

My personal preference is:
two-band hair (like Rooney Finest, Simpson Super, Shavemac D01, TGN Finest)
18-22 mm knot diameter (although I got today a 25 mm knot brush)
loft depending on the knot size, like low 40's for 18 and 19 mm, mid 40's for 20 and 22 mm, high 40's for 24 mm and and low 50's for 26 mm
But, that is a personal thing, so YMMV.
Handle design is also personal preference, I have three or four PJ's styled brushes right now in use.
But I also like my T+H Rooney 1/1 for the face.

Well I certainly can't add anymore.... you got it straight from the master

+1 Rudy Vey is the Darth Vader of B&B

I cant agree more with his numbers. Personaly I like to face lather with a bigger brush. My Simpson Chubby 2 two band and my Shavemac 24mm Two Band extreme flat top D01 are my favorite face lathering brushes. I think most people like a 20-22mm brush for face lathering though. My brother has a Rooney 1/3 that he swears by. He WILL NOT buy anything else he is so happy with it. YMMV though.

Here's the specs: Rooney 1/2 Super.

+1. Great face mop. Loves soap.

If it's a brush you're after, then boar makes specs a little meaningless compared to badger, as they have backbone to spare at greater lofts and smaller knots/density.

I like the Semogue 620.

Whichever Rooney Finest strikes your fancy (if you have the $$$). There just something different about those springy little hairs. The only problem is I was told by a couple vendors that the hair used for Rooney Finest brushes is getting very hard to come by and Rooney had to stop production a couple years ago. They said a you might find some remaining stock on the shelves but once they are gone they may not be coming back. Not sure how accurate that information is....

Quite accurate, unfortunately. Or, fortunately, if you ask my wallet.

Thanks to everyone.
I had intended to do a lot more research before purchasing, but got weak last night and couldn't resist a honey jasper/gemstone handle. 20mm vulfix super badger. Both handle and loft are 43mm.
I hope Rudy will make my next brush.
