Can it be compared to anything from Scotland? Does it favor a region of Scotland. Or is it just unique? I will sample this one soon...
Yes, it was rather like a Speyside or Highland. It was a gift from a friend some time ago, before the world got hysterical about Japanese whisky (or whisk(e)y) in general, so the last few drams were well beyond their prime, but it still was a joy to drink. Even though the flavors and nose had flattened out a bit, the joy of the gift remained.

This thread makes me sad.
Last night was about targeting a couple of bottles that were very low.
Just enough in the Old Forester 100 bottle last night for a couple 1.5 oz Old Fashioneds.
A few months ago I stopped accumulating bourbon and the stash is down to 2 750s of Eagle Rare, a shot of Elijah Craig Barrel Strength, and a handle of Weller SR. With a couple of family gatherings on the horizon and the pandemic slowing a bit, I might actually get back to browsing.
Probably a little less than an ounce...
Last night was a good night.
