Sourcing for a 1958 Gillette Toggle

I'm sorry, but that is just too much in the condition it is in. The finish is marred, no black contrast stripes, no case... The people on craigslist all need to get a grip. They all want ebay plus pricing, but the hard reality is what you sell something for on the bay they hammer you hard on fees every which way. Listing fees, final value fees, fees on your shipping money, paypal fees. It really adds up. Better examples than that barely broke $150 recently. I'd MAYBE offer him $125 for that if he showed the doors opened evenly.... When you're dealing with the hard hitting collectible stuff, anything less than near perfect is just slumming..

11% for ebay + 2.5% Paypal, in my humble opinions that a real scam.

I'd like to say to these diehard collectors to never go into car collecting because NOS doesn't exist there, only ROS (Revamped Old Stock lolll).

Dude, it's ludicrous how guys have tried to ***** me down on prices for MINOR stuff on really great pieces..... I don't really want a toggle, so that razor has limited appeal as I think I'd have to deal with a lot of bs to move it on to someone else when I decided to.

Well, with cars you should never buy the things as investments by and large. They are just black holes you keep throwing money into that you will never see again. But $200 is ludicrous for that toggle.... If he tried to get $200 on the bay for that, some fool may well bid, but by the time it all hashed out he'd get what, $170? I've gone hardline in the wild over that crap too. It gets results sometimes.

I'd really love to find a toggle in the next couple of months, when the time is right for me. I'd like to pick one up for $125 or so. User grade is fine as long as the mechanics are good and there is no major pitting, dents, damage, etc. I would have it replated anyhow. $200 for that is just way way too much. Maybe if it was in near perfect condition and the only thing missing was the case....

Really? So you gents think a reasonable $100 would be the right price? I might be able to swing that.
