Ok, I'll chime in. Nothing vintage here unless you call an Amazon "find" vintage. The razor is a Parker 76R loaded with my FIRST Feather. Prepped with ToBS Sandalwood, a Perfecto brush, and finished with some alum and Brickell's Instant Relief.

I've been at this DE shaving now for just shy of 3 weeks and have been working my way through a sampler pack of blades. Finding some good (Shark SC was my favorite), some bad (7 AM blades, please report to the trash can), I finally decided to bite the bullet... er... blade... and go for the Feather. I can sum up the entire shave with ... WOW!

I think I figured why the lather goes away after the first pass. For some reason, whether by capillary action or the lather leeching the water or something else, the water that's been absorbed by the hair comes out and changes the water to soap ratio thereby making the lather dissipate. At least that's what it looks like. I wonder what would be the cause of this? Hard water?
