Very comfortable shave today, although not super close (never is with the Blue Tip, at least it’s even though). First time using a carbon steel blade, and it worked well in this razor and at least for this shave, I’ll see how it goes next shave. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous. There is a little bit of a travel connection with this shave, as this razor has lived the majority of its life living in my grandfather's travel kit. He did a fair amount of travelling as he worked as a travel agent for a while and did tours, and he loved talking to people visiting from overseas and helping them learn English (he was also a teacher for a while). In terms of this razor, I think he probably bought it around the time he moved (along with his young family) to New Zealand, it had a 1960 (F2) date blade in it when I found it.

I happen to be traveling right now! Its one of those rare trips where I did the carry-on thing. i usually check a bag and take a proper DE razor and a full kit. But for this trip, I grabbed a couple of el-cheapo BIC Comfort 3 razors at my destination. A four-pack was less than a cup of coffee. And they did a decent job. Comfortable. Smooth. Close enough for what I needed. The water is ridiculously soft here, and it made the Arko super gloopy, which I find highly enjoyable. STF 23mm. Clubman Brandy Spice splash. Nice simple and easy shave!

This was the fourth and final shave with the U.K Aristocrat razor and a Wizamet blade. The blade was beginning to feel a little rough, so I decided to toss it after the shave. The brush today is a synthetic: Omega Evo. It does a nice job. The Williams is on its 104th use and the hole in the puck is getting larger. A perfect shave. Have a great day and weekend, folks.
