Prep: Shower/Warm face towel
Soap: Stirling Ozark Mtn. Shave Soap
Lather Bowl: Pigeon Forge Pottery
Razor: Parker Variant
Blade: Voskhod
Brush: Omega 10019 Boar Brush
Post: PAA Alum / Stirling Ozark Mtn. Balm
Talc: Clubman
Aftershave: Stirling Ozark Mtn.Aftershave

Wonderful morning shave, This marks my 10th straight day using the Parker Variant and I could not be happier. I have also used 10+ different blade combos which at some point I will document on here. I have found it a little strange that the blades that I thought were the smoothest in my other razors perform differently in the Variant. So far I have used 11 blades, 1 blade only made it for less than 10 seconds and I immediately knew that it was the worst blade I have ever used in my life, The remaining 10 blades have all been great and I think that I have found my new favorite razor.

Excellent presentation, Chris. Glad you've found the Variant to be pleasure to use. My venture with it hasn't been so good. Looking forward to your comments on the blade usage.

Beautiful photo, Craig. Looks like the soap and AS were a fine match.

That is a very cool looking handle, would you mind telling me who makes them and where you bought it?

Not at all. The gentleman who makes them is Rudy Vey of ultimatependesigns. Here is his website. He is well known to the B&B community and a great guy. You can contact him via email and he will work with you in helping you choose what you want in a brush. :001_smile

Welp, missed the description change before I shot the photo, so not holiday cheer here. BAH HUMBUG! Instead going to have to settle for this plain ol, boring photo of some of my favorite hard and softwares [emoji12]

Nothing wrong with that "plain ol' boring photo" at all, Sean.

Have a Nice Monday Gentlemen
"... and a Shave in a Christmas tree...." Looking good, David.

Razor: Edwin Jagger DE SR in Ebony
Blade: Voskhod
Brush: B&M synthetic fiber
Preshave: Well-Groomed Guy Preshave Oil
Shaving Cream: B&M First Snow
Aftershave1: Thayer's Medicated
Aftershave2: B&M First Snow AS
Aftershave3: TJ's White Pine lotion
The 3rd aftershave toned down the AS and added more pine scent. B&M is hit and miss for me. I like some, don't like others, others such as this one are just okay.

Tasty photo, Murray! And a mighty sweet looking shave too!

Fine close up of your arrayment. How do you like the Vikings Blade razor?
The Vikings Blade Chieftain was my first DE razor. It's from Australia, which is odd, considering the name Viking would normally be Scandinavian. I bought it because it had 1000s of good reviews on AMZN (This was before I started shopping at other shaving websites). It's a very fine razor for $37, but since then I've found extremely similar Chinese versions for half the price. LOL. The blades that come with it are very mild, and the performance is much better with a Feather or a Voskhod blade. It has a butterfly opening, which is a nice difference from most of my other razors.

I remember looking at it when I was buying my first DEs but never ordered one.
