The first week of the new year will be entirely dedicated to The Land of the Rising Sun. Japan is not only a wonderful place, but also a country of thousand-year-old wisdom and knowledge. From the legendary Samurai swords to the current JNats and hand-made honing stones, I'm pretty sure our straight razor fans will enjoy this themed week. Please add in your always stunning shots all the Japanese shaving stuff you own and love! :001_wub:

Monday, January 2, 2012. Good Morning!

Morning Coffee: Hills Brothers Original Blend
Prep: Wash face with Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: Schick G1
Blade: Schick
Soap: Speick
Brush: Simpsons Duke 2
Scuttle: Dirty Bird 1.5
Post: Cold water rinse followed by some Speick After Shave Lotion

Excellent shave gear Johnny

Sorry Marco: But an Un-Japanese shave

Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 26mm Thäter "Ltd. Ed. SRP 2011", 2-band Silvertip Badger
Maxterpiece: 7/8" Wade & Butcher "Celebrated Hollow Ground", Full Hollow Ground, Barber's Notch (w/ Hunter Green G10 scales + Light Grey wedge)
Strop: 10/65 laps (Torolf Linen / SRD Premium IV English Bridle leather)
Soapreme: Cyril Salter "Wild Rose" Shave Creme + SRD "Bulgarian Rose" Shave Soap :001_wub:+ Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
Moisturizer: D.R. Harris AS Milk
After Shave Splash: D.R. Harris "Pink" AS
After Shave Balm: RazoRock AS Wax
Results: The second shave of 2012 was just as phenomenal as the first . Took out my "Maximized" Celebrated W&B for a spin and she delivered on the dime. The edge was amazingly sharp, yet so smooth. No wonder W&B are amongst some the best shavers out there. As for lather, I opted for some Rose scented delight. The combination of the CS and SRD Roses was just spot on

. These must be amongst the best of the best as far as software is concerned, especially the SRD soap (it is probably one of the best glycerin soaps ever made:001_wub:). Smooth as butter and loving it

. These are the moments that remind us why it is GREAT to be a Man.

Have a TERRIFIC Monday gentlemen
proxy.php
.

Looks and sounds divine, Robert:001_wub: Japanese straight tomorrow???

Japan Week??? So IRONIC then that without knowing this I took out my Yasuki Steel Kamisori with Blue Tosuke Grip and used it for the first time in months today... Coupled it with a Semogue 1305 brush, Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet Cream, Aftershave, and EDT, and groomed my towel dried damp hair with Tabac Hair Cream. Ahhhhhhhh.... Japan.... Ever since viewing "Lost in Translation" (maybe before actually) I've longed to pay a visit to the Land of the Rising Sun.

***(used an old picture but you get the point...a brilliant shave!)

Mike, an "old" picture is just fitting for this theme week. A supreme selection of products for an awesome shave!:001_smile:thumbup1:

Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: Simpson Chubby 1
Razor: Hart Steel 6/8
Strop: 40/60 Neil Miller Linen/English Bridle
Soap: Valobra Stick
After shave: Alt Innsbuck
Results: First shave of 1012, and what a wonderful shave it was :D this Hart is truly a great razor!

Great picture David.

How did you get on with the CAde on it's own? Have you figured out how to get a good lather from it yet?
