I had an excellent BBS shave with the Ambassador today. Two passes on setting 3 wtg/atg and the usual touch up strokes on the lowest setting available. Very nice and uneventful.

Monday SOTD- a mid-morning two-pass shave with a some cleanup and buffing for a BBS result, 10/10, super close and super smooth, no mishaps at all:

Razor: RR Lupo AL- this razor paired with a sharp blade works well
Blade: KCG (2)- these blades are pricey, but perform nicely
Soap: MdC Nature- simply delightful lather with great residual slickness, and surprisingly good post-shave feel
Brush: Simpson Chubby 1 in best- always good for a face lather
Post: cold rinse, then a splash of Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla AS to test the shave- only a bit of sting that faded quickly; I don't really get much vanilla from this AS, but it does seal those pores

This razor and blade pairing was good and 3passes at setting 4-3-3 resulted in a bbs/dfs finish with 2 micro red beads. The matching aftershave is really good...wish it could last for many hours...

Early morning shave.

I haven't used the clubman Pinaud soap for a while and forgot how much a great in-expensive soap this is.. This is almost 'croap-like' soap it doesn't need blooming before mixing providing a slick protective lather, in no time, i like the scent too, it's not over powering, and the post shave feel is incredibly good. What more can I say? apart from it's a great inexpensive shaving soap.

Being on a budget the vast majority of my shave set ups are very inexpensive, it just goes to show you don't need to pay extortionate prices for 'Super-Dooper' artisan shaving soaps/creams when they are plenty of perfectly good shaving products on offer that are equally as good if sometimes better at a fraction of the price.

The Club Pinaud soap is just one of many...As always it's down to individual choice what people buy & use...YMMV.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.


My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine.

■ Adjustable April ■Tallow Tabac Tuesday ■

Day 12 of Adjustable April.
It's been the Flexi's turn again on Tallow Tabac Tuesday. Two efficient passes (wtg 5.5/atg 3.5) made for another easy BBS shave. The blade (vintage Silver Star) is not a favourite choice of mine, though.

Overall, I'm really enjoying these shaves with the adjustable razors. I will definitely get back to them more often in course of the remaining year.
