The Morning Shave.
The Astra Superior Platinum blade was in my 1961 Gillette Adjustable FatBoy today.

Another very smooth shave. It’s easy to see why this is a good blade for someone starting wet shaving. No weepers or any irritation from a full head and face shave.
I picked up the Nivea Men – Sensitive pro pack about 2 years ago, $5.00 Aus for both. Great quality with a mild scent.
My soaps/creams last for ages. I look on the package to estimate the number of shaves I will get. I sue >1gm of cream and a little less from a hard soap - 100 gm will give me 100 shaves.

I have a similar process of lather build as @UncleLshaves (Laurie)
If you haven’t seen his YouTube channel, drop in and have a look, amazing lather.

Went for a "Spice" shave today and decided to return to the Astra SP, the blade I was weaned on and what I consider to be a solid "middle of the road" contender. I'm using this to begin a blade journal for auditioning different blades in different razors (a long overdue proposition for me). The only way to be scientific about this is to have a methodology I can follow and track my results; so 1 blade type to be run through each of my razors for a minimum of 4 shaves with results recorded on a 5 point scale (I may put this into a journal post, I haven't decided yet).

So the 40s style Super Speed was up first today and I must say, the shave was really excellent. Best shave in 2 weeks. I was reminded of why I used to love the Astra SP; it rides the sweet spot of sharp/smooth. That line varies with time and use (and likely batch variations) and some people can't get on with them at all. Today's particular pairing was the right one for a two-day beard growth though and it was beyond easy to get a DFS+ all around with no nicks or irritation.

Razor: Fatip Piccolo
Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum (1st use)
Brush: Omega 10810
Cream: Pure by Gillette
Aftershave: Adidas Champions

Nice shave, very comfortable. First time trying the Pure. Works pretty well, almost boringly so, nice and slick. Scent is fairly light yet pretty genericly fresh and modern, reminds me of Nautica Classic. Refreshing amount of menthol too which I like. Not bad for $3.50 AUD ($2.35 USD) at a discount store, big tube too.

I am enjoying the combination of the U.K. Aristocrat razor and Polsilver blade. This was the fourth shave with this combination. I went back to a badger brush. Today’s brush is the 2012 B&B LE by Rudy Vey. The brush did a superb job of making plenty of lather. I am a big fan of the keyhole handle. The shave was excellent: a perfect BBS shave. Have a wonderful day, folks.

Razor : Yaqi Sentinel 1.50mm 316 SSP head with a Yaqi Teardrop 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2022>,mild range using a standard Gillette blade. Machining and design + finish are top notch for a excellent razor for my shaving needs.
Lately I have been enjoying this razor because it just works well. Very smooth shaver with the 1.5 mm gap makes for a decent daily driver also(this is the proper gap for this type of blade loading design style for comfort and closeness IMO)! This would be a excellent daily driver with a persons favorite handle attached IMO. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : GSB(3) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity. Top tier blade in my shave den.
Soap : Proraso green eucalyptus menthol, interesting masculine menthol scented with excellent lather qualities.
Brush :Yaqi "Lucky dice" 26mm tuxedo knot. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Great brush for a person with large hands with a great synthetic knot.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Proraso green with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 10 stellar.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=:a17: Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Yaqi Sentinel razor with a GSB blade. Smooth shave this morning!
