Excellent shave. This is my last week shaving with SEs. Next week I will begin using nothing but straights for 6 months. Even though I will continue to get tugging on my chin like last time I'm going to master them. Everyday. If I don't have the time I just won't shave. Otherwise I will wake up 20 minutes earlier to give me more time. I've made my decision.

SOTD, Tuesday afternoon, October 14th, 2014

Prep with glycerin soap face lather and rinse
Eve's goat milk rose shave soap from Etsy
Rudy Vey badger brush
Feather Artist Club folding straight + Proguard blade in 1 1/2 passes
A smear of Benedryl Gel to relieve irritation from the rose soap!
Cool washcloth rinse
Thayer's Rose witch hazel splash
Smear of Trumper's Coral Skin Food

First time using Eve's rose soap; it has a huge, nice rose scent.
But unfortunately it did not agree with my face, which seemed to burn as soon as I lathered.
Never had a similar reaction to any other shave product.
Otherwise, a nice shave.
I'll happily PIF this puck to anyone who would like!!

SOTD ~ Tuesday, October 14, 2014

Razor: 1963 F - 2 Gillette Fat Boy
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Brush: Whipped Dog Boar - 30mmX65mm
Lather: The Strop Shoppe - Barbershoppe
Aftershave: Fine - American Blend

It was a fine shave after sleeping in and a long soothing warm to cool shower. I used two sinks today as the wife was out of town. One sink cold to presoak razor and rinse razor while shaving. The other with hot water for lather. http://home.comcast.net/~jvrenaldo/shaving3.gif
I do love the barbershop scent. http://theshaveden.com/forums/smilies/love055.gif
Strop Shoppe has a great recipe for mountainous lather. My brush whipped it up in less than a minute. The Fat Boy delivered a BBS again. It's been a while but two passes and cleanup in record time.http://theshaveden.com/forums/smilies/git.gif

Wow! I love your determination and I hope to join you in your pursuit of mastering/getting comfortable with straight razors! I just bought a few Japanese ones from a friend and I promised him that I would try! :biggrin1:
Best of luck with your journey!
