I am using my Wolfman WR2 SB 1.05 razor – the last razor I purchased. I am using a Med Prep blade for the second shave. The Ethos Lavender soap is my latest soap purchase, and I am enjoying it. A nice BBS shave.
Have a good one.

Something old, something new, something Mysterious
Both the razor and blade are old and new to me. The blade? A total mystery.
All my Gillettes are Techs or SuperSpeeds, so this is my first Gillette with a comb.
Looking at the blade itself, I believe it may have been made by the same company that produced the “Old Hickory” blade I used previously. The “Mystery Edge” gave me a nice comfortable shave, but I found the comb on the Single Ring to be a little severe and could feel it’s acutely machined edges scraping along my skin, especially under my nose and chin. I do have other open comb razors, but they seem more refined and beveled. Perhaps jumping back to circa 1909 shows me how the manufacturing of combs evolved over the years.
All said and done, the Mystery Edge is no longer a mystery to me. On its next appearance I plan to use it in my black handle SuperSpeed.

Razor: Gillette Blue Tip
Blade: Kai (7)
Bowl: Captain’s Choice copper
Brush: Yaqi Green Obsidian 24mm synthetic
Lather: Razorock Blue
Aftershave: Bootleggers Perfecto
EdT: Cuba Orange

I did not do at all well making lather today. It looked nice, but it didn’t get off the brush and onto my face. I am going to have to do some investigation. Is it the brush, the soap or a combination of the two? Surely it couldn’t be that the technique needs refinement :scared:

New Razor SOTD:

Got my new Charcoal Goods Level 2 baseplate and had the first shave this morning. It is quite a departure from the prior Level 2's. Super smooth. Almost Wolfman smooth. Minimal blade feel. Seems to be as efficient as the Gen 2 Level 2, but I will have to do a side by side to compare. I used a Magnum handle and my Everyday top cap, which is the same as the new Level 2 top cap as per Brian. Great shave.

Razor: Schick DE Razor
Blade: Schick Platinium* (1)
Brush: Shavemac Silvertip 22mm (New)
Soap: Cella
AS: Stirling Deep Blue Sea

* I found these in a kitchen drawer in my parents countryhouse a few weeks ago.
My dad stopped shaving around 1971, so I probably bought them when I started shaving in the early eighties.
Those blades are excellent. My father only used them back in the 80s until they stopped making them.
