A nice aromatic shave that left me feeling like I was either deep in an old cedar forest, or inside one of those big pencil sharpeners we used to have at school. It was a two pass BBS, even my neck, but I’m still not sure if I like shaving with my EJ razors any more. I think my vintage Gillettes have spoiled me. I did get a couple of small nicks in places that I shouldn’t have been nicking myself. Maybe I’m just over analyzing things too much.
Well my Tabac Soap arrived, Mrs McB sends her apologies, not her fault though. New Tabac AS and fresh Personna blade. Six days growth gone and replaced with a BBS.
New brush is great too. Just the right handle weight for me.

A good shave.
I spend too much time on B&B.
I was reading up on shaving soaps which are meant to be used by hand (no brush). I like being able to see my whiskers without a coating of white lather (however thin) on them. I remembered using my Aleppo 50% soap for a shave once, and it was a good one... but I used a brush.
This time I think I overdid the soap by rubbing it on the stubble first. At the end of the shave the blade was kinda loaded with soap and whisker waste... a sure sign of "too much," with normal shaving soap anyway.
Any time I find even a trace of waste on my blade, after rinsing, when I disassemble my razor for its post shave clean... I know my lather was too-thick/had too-much-soap-in-the-mix. So next shave I'll just lather and apply by hand, simply wetting my face with my fingers when I need to go over an already buffed spot again, or in a different direction (the slickness of this stuff allows that MO easily).
And now that I'm in the shaving bar soap (without brush) mood, I've just ordered a couple of shaving dedicated bars: Granado and Friendly.
It's funny how one goes looking for new rabbit holes when the existing ones seem to have come to an end.

Precious soap since I just have a sample. Really awesome qualities, with just a little it became a huge cone of super-rich creamy & slick lather with a very nice scent too...
An excellent shave with the razor paired with this blade + shim. Just smooth and easy in 3passes for a bbs finish. Aftershaves were great too!
