My Labor Day shave uses a small brush, the T&H Silvertip, with the Coates cream. The UK Aristocrat and Wizamet combo is on its third use today. Another smooth, BBS shave. Have a great Labor Day, folks.

Vintage Schick meets vintage Gillette
After two great shaves with this 1966 Super Chromium blade in my 1966 Schick DE razor, I thought I’d give it a spin in a 1966 Gillette adjustable.
As expected with these vintage blades, the shave was smooth and effortless. The Gillette Slim may even have been a bit smoother than the Schick, but my post shave face has that sensation of an aggressive razor. I think next time I’ll dial it down from 7 to 5 with this blade.
I enjoyed the lather from the Proraso Blue. The Boti brush is probably the softest brush in the world. I think it’s really a woman’s face powdering brush in disguise.
I’ve been reuniting with shaving soaps and creams that have been ignored as I acquired lots of fancy schmancy artisan soaps with lots of artwork on the products. Yes I’ve gotten snobbish as I evolved, but now I seem to be coming full circle and getting back to basics. There seems to be a contest on which company can load the most oils and fats into their soaps. As far as my face is concerned, more isn’t better.
