A good shave.

With three days (heavy) growth my new lightweight reminded me that "no pressure" is really a bit of a joke. So more technique tweaking is required on my part. I hadn't properly noticed this before, as the longest I'd gone between shaves with the Fine Slant previously was two days. That was the 20th consecutive shave, so I intend continuing my training to at least 30 consecutive shaves.

A surprisingly good shave tonight saved, in no small part, by the great NO aftershave. First pass was, standard for me, on the thin side. In fact, way too thin. One would think I'd learned by now to stop, add soap, then try again. Nnnnnaaaaahhhhh. Just went with it and it was what I should have expected: lots of tugging and dragging. Duh.

Added some soap and, surprise (not really), the second pass was awesome. No complaints at all. Because of the first pass, though, the alum gave some pronounced feedback. NO's aftershave to the rescue--it's a very, I don't know, nourishing aftershave for lack of a better term. It just feels good and seems to be able to correct for poor technique.

Witch safety razor, modified gem blue star first use, turkish bowl, williams mug soap and paa blue samhain star jelly. Bbs no irritation or blood. The witch felt similar to a lather catcher but with more blade chatter.

Tonight shave. Purple theme for my girl. Her favorite color is purple.

Bakersfield Barber Supply 2 1/2" Russian strop. If you haven't seen the post about this strop here is the cliffsnotes version. I live in Bakersfield CA. This strop came from a company that used to be in town. I found it in Portland Oregon. It's now back where it should be and I love it.

MG 7 Japanese razor 13/16"

Grizzly Bay brush with 26mm 2band knot. I think it's a Maggards knot.

Finally able to dialled in the soap to an excellent lather. Nice strong scent, creamy and really slick...
New brush handle feels good in hand and a pleasure for face lathering with the soft bristles.
Shave with razor paired with blade was very comfortable. Smooth and sharpish for 3+1passes. Between bbs to dfs.
Excellent post and aftershaves.

Simple ~ Sensitive Bar Soap + Nuage Menthol shaving Oil.


Brush : Turkish Unbranded Boar.


Face Lather.


Frankensoap : (Grated) Arko Shave stick + Dettol Original Anti Bacterial Bar Soap & Palmolive Classic Shave Stick.


Blade: Personna Gem PTFE. (4)


Razor: Ever Ready 1924.


Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade peppermint Lavender eucalyptus, + Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Arko ~ Cool ASL/Cologne + Aftershave Balm.

The Every Ready 1924 i find the most assertive of all the Ever ready SE razors which took a few shaves adjusting to it's assertiveness. The 1924 holds quite a lot of water in the cap head when rinsing but a quick shake removes it instantly. Just like my other SE razors this vintage lady provides a pleasurable irritation-free comfortable shave, today was no exception.

An enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Arko ~ Cool Aftershave Balm.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.
