A new shave set up to start the weekend...It's been a while since I last added the Parker Premium Platinum blades to my blade rotation....They aren't the sharpest of blades, but are very smooth and forgiving Pairing together with the efficient 89r wonderfully.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Denim Original EdT to the chest & pulse points.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling old school divine. ;)

Rather perfunctory shave yesterdeay.
Did it because I was due.

Turned out surprisingly well
despite my persistent sloth.
A bracing shot of Stirling Coconut
Lime lather surely helped.

Seeking something a bit more
energetic this morning. May try

Adderall and Proraso Green.

Stay healthy,

Bill

>> SOCTOBER / OCtober <<

Preshave: shower, frigid tap water
Brush: Semogue Owners Club 2-band finest badger butterscotch
Soap: Stirling Soap ~ Pharaoh's Dreamsiecle
Razor: Blackland Blackbird Stainless Steel Open Comb
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (3)
Post shave: frigid tap water, Stirling Soap ~ Pharaoh's Dreamsiecle AS, Neutrogena Hydro Boost Aqua Creme.

2 passes, some touch-ups, and my face was silky smooth again. The combination of Blackbird and Polsilver Super Iridium proved to be very good, the blade slid easily through my whiskers and took no prisoners.

I chose a rather shallow angle, which resulted in me barely feeling the blade. Almost no feedback from Stirling's after shave, too. So nice.

Enjoy your weekend, y'all!

Soap Ach Brito Mogno
Brush Yaqi 24mm Cavern Lake 2 Band Badger
Razor Parker 26C OC on a Yaqi Handle
Blade Derby Extra 3rd
Aftershaves Stirling Witchhazel MitA + Clubman Gents Gin
Long ignored soap...what a mistake. This soap provides some excellent lather...creamy, very slick, and really pleasant scent...
The shave with this razor paired with the blade was just ok and the blade will be ditched. 3passes for a ccs result without any issues. The AS is my number 2 favorite among the 4 Clubmans I have... an awesome scent but just doesn't last as long.

Today I Decided to Go Topless!

FA69FC68-0E9B-4257-B4AB-9B9C272A1F40.jpeg

I’ve been meaning to pick up an inexpensive GEM so I could try it with the cap removed, so I was elated when I found a top notch Damaskeene that was already topless.
It gave me a wonderful smooth Damaskeene shave, but I had to subtract points because the blade fell out a couple times. No harm…no foul…no injury, just a really nice shave. I’ll correct the problem before I use it again. I believe bending the retaining tab down a little should solve the problem.
I know this will offend some SV aficionado’s, but I find it doesn’t have much residual glide. I’m having to continually slap more on as I shave or my razor stops dead in it’s tracks.
Over all I’m perfectly smooth with no hint of post shave discomfort, so call this a win. I’ll return with this razor after I make a few adjustments.
