A relaxing early sunday morning cold water shave.

The valet VC1 is such a smooth non-aggressive, yet efficient SE razor fitted with the Gem PTFE blade is a wonderful combo.

After the close BBS shave i had yesterday with my assertive Gem Micromatic O.C. i only needed a 2 +pickup pass to make my face silky smooth again.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Nivea Men ~ Sensitive Cooling PSB.

My face is feeling super cool & smelling devine.

WAY better shave with the SE1 this time. I put a fresh blade in, really focused on a zero pressure touch and my technique, and while it was slow going, I ended up with a supremely close shave. This razor really demands my attention, but it does reward me with incredible shaves. Other than nicking a bump that was already there, I had no nicks or weepers this time, which was very gratifying given its aggression. Also, this brush is a bad man! It loads quickly, holds a ton of water, and the tips feel so soft but also provide a slight scrub due to the density of the knot. Lots of backbone but splays very easily somehow; it is just so much fun to use. The soap was excellent. From what I could find out, it seems like it was a collab between A&E and a fragrance maker. It's an infectious Creed Aventus clone, and I loved lathering it with this brush. Really shiny and creamy, and the post-shave is excellent. I still don't know if this razor is a keeper for me; I'm not too down with taking that long to shave and having to be that careful. But it's hard to argue with the results: glass-smooth and feeling great.

What a beautiful beautiful brush...
