A gap for all seasons
I decided to go another shave with the 97R. The last shave I got a nice two pass BBS with an extremely sharp Lord Platinum, so I wanted to see how the big blade gap would handle a gentler blade. I was expecting the milder Shark blade to be a little grabby with this razor, especially ATG on my neck, but I was wrong. The 97R was intuitive and the Shark performed a flawless two pass BBS on my neck…and that doesn’t happen very often.

Shark Super Stainless. A mild but efficient smooth shaver. This was the very first blade I ever used when I switched to DE shaving.

Post: alum -> Nivea Sensitive Cool balm

Back to a no-effort, very comfortable shave. I really like the L1! Two passes + a touch up for DFS all the way around, no feedback from the alum.

The Above The Tie classic M2 plate has fantastic head geometry for a super BBS shave with 3 passes with a Gillette 7OC permahsharp blade on its 4th use.

Very smooth and efficient razor.

Twin Feather blades in the Shake Sharp mk1. No disputing the closeness of the shave but I feel smoothness gained by the use of twin blades is a bit compromised here, at least with a new edge. I expect sharpness will drop quite a bit using the same edge on a second full beard and head shave, more so than with most blades, so may not be my best match.
