Beautiful shaves over the last week, carried on with using the grooming dept credance, fast becoming one of my favourite soaps. I know it was cancelled because many people didnt like the scent of the puck before lathering, but the performance is absolutely out of this world, definitely going to have to try some of their other soaps, maybe a few PAA soaps or Stirling if only i could get my hands on any of those lol.

I tend to be a big fan of the tallow based soaps, so i also love the uncle jons pipe smoke puck i have, maybe i should add that to the winter rotation too.

Razor: Gillette 1948 barber pole aristocrat
Blade: derby extra (5) (6) (7)
Brush: Wilkinson sword classic
Soap: grooming dept credance
Aftershave Balm: prep

Oh yeah, it reeks out of the tub but once lathered, it's a really nice scent!

Razor - Asylum RX
Blade - Schick Proline
Brush - Oz Shaving "Polychrome" 24mm TGN Grade A silvertip
Soap - Murphy & McNeil Claddagh
A/S - Murphy & McNeil Claddagh splash/Brickell unscented balm

First time with M&M and the RX. The brush is breaking in nicely, continuing to clean itself out, and generated a really nice, creamy, shiny lather from the soap. This seems like really good stuff. There is just about no scent to it, though. If you were to tell me this was an unscented soap, I'd believe you. I started in with the Asylum, and holy crap. As smooth as I found the RR Hawk V3 to be, this was even smoother. But at the same time, as I progressed through the shave, I found it deceptively aggressive. It somehow makes the blade feel sharper than any other AC SE razor I've used so far. It seems to have a really wide range of usable angles. I was going pretty shallow because the shape of the head seems to suggest that, but I might try a more neutral angle next time. I had a few weepers and a little irritation that went away with post-shave treatment. Shave was pretty darn close though, and despite the weepers and stuff, it was very enjoyable to use.

Brush: Shavemac Olive Wood 20/44 Silvertip 2-Band
Soap: Vitos Red
Razor: Fatip Lo Storto Originale with custom olive wood handle
Blade: Tatra Platinum (3)
ASL: Proraso Red

Now that I've stopped overthinking everything... the blade felt fine, just the way most good blades do IME.

This BBS shave was a very pleasant zen-like experience. :cornut:
