Razor - Timeless SS 0.95 open comb
Blade - Astra SP
Brush - Grizzly Bay "Kashyyyk" 26mm HMW badger
Soap - Stirling Gentleman
A/S - Supply Arenella Coast

I'll be featuring the Timeless 0.95 OC whenever I can this week. I've used it once before, but I really want to get to know it this time through. From the first stroke, this razor is truly great. It is among the smoothest razors I've ever used. Angle is super intuitive. Efficiency is pretty good, but not as high as the gap and open comb would suggest. But once completing two passes, my shave is wonderfully close. Like the last time I used it, there was one spot of very mild irritation (honestly about as mild as can be), but using it more and trying different blades I think will help me hone in on the best way to shave with this beauty. Besides, the irritation has since gone, and I'm just left with a masterful shave even in trouble areas.

The brush is no joke. GB/TDR's Fanchurian is beloved by many, but I'm surprised John's HMW doesn't get more praise (at least that I've seen, forgive me if I'm wrong). The knot is very dense with a luxurious bloom. It has good backbone when painting and splays great when scrubbing, with an exquisite face feel. Stirling Soaps are absolutely awesome, and the brush generated a perfect lather in a short amount of time. I was blown away by how good the flow through was for a brush this dense, too. It kept dispensing nice thick lather through two passes and touch-ups. A terrifically luxurious shave today.

*No, it's not making me beautiful.
But rubbed on a wet beard and allowed to dry,
it seems to be an excellent pre-shave.

**A mash-up of what I believe are VdH and Williams
from the back of the cupboard. They ain't Cella,
but they lather up just fine.

This was basically a 1.5 pass shave after yesterday's shave, and I also wanted to make use of the test lather with the brush.

Parker Variant on 1.5
Rapira Platinum Lux blade (4)
Fine Platinum soap
Semogue 830 boar brush
Timeless Razor lather bowl
Osma alum block
Nivea Sensitive aftershave balm
Patchouli Nobile by Nobile 1942 fragrance

Sunday SOTD
Sunday is a very special Shave for me
usually it is reserved for my 1914 Gillette Bulldog , my Father's birth year . It gives me a chance to reflect on days gone by.
Today my D-4 Fatboy was screaming out from the cabinet, what about me !
and the more I thought about it the better fit was a Razor that he actually had and used. Granted it was not the exact Razor but it could have been :)
So loaded with a vintage Gillette Spoiler
out She came ready to go to work.
The soap and aftershave are both special Vintage Old Spice , when I get a whiff of OS I automatically go back to my youth, it was His signature scent that's for sure .
So Razor,Blade,Soap and After Shave all vintage and ready to go
So I needed a vintage Brush that could bring it all together, the Vintage Ever-Ready had to step up, it has been re-knoted
with a new synthetic knot .
Amazing Shave it was:)

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Semogue Owners Club Boar
Soap: PannaCrema Nuavia Blu
Razor: Merkur Mergress (3.5)
Blade: NOS Gillette Super Silver (13)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; Bootleggers El Dorado Aftershave Splash

Very close 3-pass shave. After the ATG pass on my neck, I felt a tad of irritation. Didn't last for long.
As I was cleaning up, I saw that I had inadvertently changed the setting on the Mergress to 3.5 from my ususal 2.5 some time during the shave.
Gotta say it is the closest shave I've had for some time!
Great finish with the Thayers Witch Hazel and Bootlegger's splash.
