SOTD (Predator Effect)

I had bad-shaves and no-fun shaves recently. I decided to back to my roots. So I picked up what I used for the longest time: Gillette Permasharp razor and Permasharp blade. These two are designed for each-other. Since I have good amount of experience with this combination, even though the blade is kind of unevenly sharp around the edges and it bites you too if you are not careful, I still can handle it pretty well.

It's a mild razor so I can't wait for my hard' n thick stubble to grow (I like alternate day shaves otherwise). Just a mild irritation in one area because I again, as usual, put some more pressure with a bad angle. Also, one big bad cut from yesterday's shave got opened again. So alum stung a little on those places.

All in all, a pretty quick and fun shave. I am back guys.
Great set up for the upcoming St Paddy's Day!

Prep: Country Life Tallow/Lanolin/Glycerin Soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Leonidam Horus Silvertip Badger
Cream: Musgo Real Oak Moss
Razor: Blutt BR-1
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Platinum Royal (6)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel, Jack Black Post Shave Cooling Gel
Scent: Musgo Real Oak Moss EdC

Running short of time with an engagement, so this called for a rapid 2-pass shave with abbreviated prep.
Not quite as comfortable as normal, but still very close and entirely satisfactory.

Brush: M7
Soap: Seaforth Sea Spice Lime
Razor: CB Karve
Blade: Wizamet (Z-4)
Post: Seaforth Sea Spice Lime Tonic

Excellent scent and acceptable finish, I mistakenly picked up the B plate rather than the intended E. Clearly too tired this morning, really must wake up before shaving. Difficult to tell whether the Wizamet is still holding up, I'm not sensitive enough with the mild razors. I'll pop it in something with a bit more welly tomorrow!

Hope everyone has a grand day!

Cheers

Marc

Notes to today’s shave:
A special day calls for a special razor. Today is my first B&B anniversary and there is lots to be grateful and thankful for, including shaving with my birth quarter razor courtesy of the eminent cowboy @Curly Straight. I used settings 4-5-6 for my subsequent passes.

A wonderful anniversary shave with a great razor.

Further details to this shave and more can be found in my journal here.

Enjoy your shave!

Good morning and Happy Friday!
