Pre: Shower
Soap: Barrister's Reserve Classic
Brush: Omega Boar
DE: Gillette Slim code I-3
Razor: Feather
Post: Aluna Alum Block and Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

The Bay Rum was a new acquisition. Not a bad fragrance, slight smell of the Alcohol but overall a good aftershave.

For the last few months I have been going over and giving my Dad a shave. He has dementia/altztheimers and basically has not been able to shave himself for awhile. ANYWAY today is his 88th birthday and I have not been over to give him a shave for a few days so I used his favorite shave cream but used what would shave his 3 day growth the best,

PRE: PAA Prickly Pear Mentholated Star Jelly
Gillette Foamy Lemon-Lime shave cream
PAA Alpha Ecliptic Blue Slant Razor w/Personna Med Prep
Brut AS

Wonderful of you. Sorry to hear about your dad. My dad and that side of my family have been ravaged by it. It's tough. All the best.

new gear day fun stuff from bad badger
new brush shape and bristle type for me key hole-ish shavemac synthetic
my third modern head with the karve sb c plate, my first Canadian bit of gear.
Marley Machine Works handle 75 grams and and 99mm long, nice length, weight, girth and knurling
I can see why people rave about the razor it was smooth and efficient very akin to my brass brit aristocat #16
brush was very nice, had the backbone and very soft tips.
felt just like a denser packed, shorter loft version of my rubberset 400/4
soap is proraso red

Brush: Semogue Torga-C3 Finest Mistura 22/49
Soap: TFS Mandarino Tachibana
Razor: Wolfman WR2-SB 1.25 head on a "Worlds Finest" handle
Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (1)
ASL: Clubman

A very nice shave.

I changed my blade again, just for the heck of it, and noticed a very pleasant change in the shave. This doesn't normally happen to me so soon. I'm wondering if it's the design of the razor (or more likely the goon that's using it) that's causing this... strange.

I added some menthol to my Clubman ASL. It gave me a nice delayed effect chill, and fortunately didn't seem to alter the scent one bit.

Happy shaves guys. :cornut:

Saturday shave

Prep: Cleansing Story White Clay foam
Cream: Henri et Victoria Cognac and Cuban Cigars
Brush: Ever-Ready F-40 boar
Razor: Timeless .95 matte SS, #3
Blade: Astra SP, #3
Post: alum -> hyaluronic acid -> Pinaud Clubman Reserve Brandy Spice aftershave

Two passes and one touch-up for DFS. Cognac and Cuban Cigars is a great soap--performs well and smells great. I'll definitely be in for a full set at some point. Meanwhile, the Brandy Spice worked well with it. An excellent shave this evening.
