Great shave in the books. 3 pass. 3 days growth. Great scent inspired by Creed Virgin Island Water. I get lime, coconut and rum. I could sniff it all day. 30 minutes post shave I get lingering lime, coconut and Sandalwood. The Balm is great. Nice and smooth. Very summer scent. I've used it before but had a leisurely shave today and I think it could be my fav A&E summer scent!

Well today’s razor was a different kind altogether...today I grabbed the newly acquired SBS head which is the original design and not the newest iKon version. Now for those of you that don’t know the SBS is a OC on one side and SB on the other. Plus, you can flip the base plate between a milder or more aggressive blade profile. I went with the milder side first just to get a feel for it. The SBS head complete incloses the blade so there are no tabs poking out. All good but it does make for a pretty big profile. Loaded it up with a fresh Wilkinson Sword (Germany) to see how good it could be.

Today’s soap RazoRock Plague Doctor which is a great flowery scent and is perfect for this time of year. Crisp and clean. Lathered up a storm and went to work with the Simpson Colonel X2L.

The razor was indeed heavy but balanced well, the shaving angle was just a tad more than 30 degrees but I had no issues finding the sweet spot. First pass WTG was with the OC side and it was smooth and milder than I expected. Second pass was XTG both ways with the SB which was more aggressive than the OC side. Voila! Excellent DFS bordering on BBS. I will try the more aggressive side of the baseplate next time round. Take care, safe travels and happy shaves all.

So... I wasn't planning on a head shave today but I had an appointment canceled so what the heck. Great BBS 2 pass plus pickups. 3 days growth. I have learned I prefer a stick when head shaving. I think it's because the hair is dense and rubbing the stick on it gives me more preshave properties? I don't know, just know it's great. The La Toja is a underrated soap IMHO especially for head shaves. I like it on my face (not top 5) but love it on the dome. Maybe because its a stick or maybe as my wife says... " You are an odd man!" I borrowed my Daughter's Yaqi Moka 26mm 2 band badger for this shave. After using it a few times myself and her using it 20+ times I will say for 34 bucks it stacks up to my Chubby 2s. The Moka bloomed like a 30mm brush. Builds a great lather with great flow through. Soft with good backbone. I really like it! Post shave was same as face, A&E St. Barts AS balm.

Sorry, no pictures. Next time.

Took a break from the uber efficient shaving machines I've been using......had a super light day, got home WAY early and didn't really need to, but wanted to shave. RR SLOC on a Timeless 85mm handle....got the job done, nothing too crazy. Figured I might as well stick that handle on something else, I'm never gonna use anything on that Timeless .95 except that baby Maggard's handle.

Captain's Choice contest winnings again, felt like an Aventus clone day. I really love this scent, and the cream is just outstanding. @Captain Pre-Capsize

DFS, bunch of buffing but was good. 9/10

Absolutely a wonderful shave with the Mediterranean sea in the background. First use of the brush after breaking it in for a few days. Face lather, smooth, dense and slick. This only has to improve as the brush continues to break in.
Love how going from a milder setting on the first pass and making the second pass a bit more aggressive works for me. Lovely shave.
Conclusion: brilliant shave.

Greetings from Santa Rosa, CA
