The 4th use of Lancet SP blade before i retire it.However, i feel as though this blade could carry on giving me a few more comfortable shaves. Another superb in-expensive Indian made DE blade.

I've learned a valid lesson from my humble self and that is i should always go with my 'gut-feeling/judgement',and never be condescending towards a product by it's low price tag, or take notice of other peoples reviews until you've made your own.... You can't make a true judgement on DE blades or any shaving related product regardless of the price tag with just one or two shaves, you've got to give them a good run to see if it is suited to your skin type, test it's longevity & smoothness, and try it in different razors before you can make a true opinion.

Over the past three weeks all of the blades i've re-aquainted & new blades i have tried in various razors have been absolutely fantastic all have performed admirably with each shave the dorco blades i've shaved with haven't been the sharpest blades that i have used over the last few weeks, but both the Prime platinum & ST300 have gave me some of the consistantly comfortable smooth shaves i've had since i started DE shaving especially the Prime Platinum.
The Lancet SP another have really surprised me,which are now another good inexpensive DE blade that perform superbly, that have gave me non-fuss smooth comfortable shaves...What more can i ask for.

As always, opinions reviews, are always personal thing and are very subjective to the reader..Enough said.

Next week i be trying out another two more blades i've had since the start of the year but have yet to try starting with the Gillette 'NOS' Super Silver & Tiger Platinum.

Another pleasurable 3 pass + pick ups BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your Day ladies & gentlemen.

Tabac Thursday 23 SOTD
Soap Tabac
Bowl Turkish Copper
Brush Yaqi 26mm Moka Express
Razor Yaqi Knight Helmet
Blade Tatra Platinum 4th
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Special Thayers Mix
Hyaluronic + Clubman Whisky Wood
Great stuff from Tabac...dense, creamy and slick. Nice not overly strong scent. Brush and bowl combined to whip-up a nice lather. So pleasurable to paint it on.
Shave with this aggressive razor paired with blade was quite good. Getting comfortable with the use of the razor and better with the ideal angle on various part of the shaving surface. 3+1 multiple passes with no issues of weepers nor irritation means all good with this razor. Between bbs to dfs result. Numbing icy water rinse followed by cooling Thayers then soothed by Hyaluronic and finish off with Whisky Wood which lasted a good half-day. Rating 9.5/10!

Thursdays shave2.jpg

Today it is GD Mallard RC soap with a B&B Essential 10th Anniversary Boar brush. This brush can make a great lather with practically any soap. The razor is a Gillette Tech with a Personna Lab blade. The aftershave consists of Thayers Rose Petal WH followed by L'Occtaine aftershave balm - another great combo. The fragrance was TOBS sandalwood cologne.

SOTD THURSDAY, JULY 23, 2020

RAZOR: Cobra Art Damascus 6/8 Koa Wood Scale (Mug), AS-D2 (Dome)
BLADE: Kai DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Rabid Banana Preshave Cube
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Mentholated Mysterium Serum and Krampert’s Frostbite.

Another good shave! I really believe at this point that there’s something to the healing effects of lanolin. On pass three (XTG) of the mug shave SWMBO came waltzing in leading me to pause my stroke momentarily. I felt what I thought was a pinch, put down the razor to take a look thinking I might have a cut. All I saw was a very slight red line. I pulled on the side, but no cut despite it initially feeling like one. Well back to finishing the pass for a very close DFS+++. After my regular wash with the MWF brush squeezings, which I leave on during shave cleanup, I discovered after rinsinsing clean that I could not find where I thought I’d cut myself. Go figure!

My friend, Jim (@jluc) mentioned yesterday that Kai blades were very slightly wider than the Feather blades I usually use in my AS-D2. Since he had just acquired an AS-D2, he mentioned he was going to give the Kai a run. So for the Dome shave today, I unloaded my Feather blade and loaded a Kai. With the Kai I did hear a very slight ‘buttering toast’ song from the blade, but that was with the hearing aids cranked all the way up. The regular two pass (WTG, ATG) noggin shave seemed comparable to the shave with the Feather, and the result was no different. The baby was put to bed (VBBS), leaving your happy narrator - cool, clean and definitely velveteen!

Lovely report, over at TSD we have a saying on the 30DC thread, “technique trumps tools”. I would expect that you’ve just developed superb safety razor technique at this point in your shave journey! You’ll probably have a great shave with just about any working blade other than a defective one-off one. Have a great day!

Hello there,
Your correct my safety razor technique has improved immensely up to this point, “technique trumps tools”. i would add to that by saying "shaving confidence" helps too.
Regards. Barry.
