Stirling Agar today. 20 seconds to load the Whipped Dog Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Personna Med Prep still in the Gillette NEW Short Comb. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Stirling Agar aftershave.

Cheapo Razor Day today

Razor: Yintal (Cheap Chinese Aliexpress purchase)

Notes: I don't normally use this razor, it was a bit of an impulse purchase but it really is bloody good for the price. I paid 8 dollars for it and it really does perform just as good as most sub-100 dollar modern razors, in fact I'd go so far as to say that if performance, not looks (though it does look nice too), is your main concern in a new razor, then you'd be wasting your money on anything else under 50 dollars.

The soap is a new purchase, very disappointed with it, it's a very soft stick, more like a cream (though it is hot here so that may be affecting it). I can't see a stick of it (costing about 4.50euros!) lasting much more than 15 or 20 shaves. It's got a soapy slightly medicinal smell, nothing really to write home about, the lather really brings me flashbacks of the canned stuff /shudder, sort of slick but sticky at the same time. I'm pretty sure it's designed to just be rubbed on the face and not lathered with a brush. I face lathered with a brush a good 3-4 minutes just to get something acceptable.

So Mennen may not be good at making modern soap sticks but they are a damn fine AS company, Skin Bracer (glass bottle), liberally splashed on, then liberally splashed on again, then another one for good measure, not quite Charlie Bronson but close, I just love this stuff.
