SOTD, Wed, Jan 27th 2021

Razor: Razorock 2nd generation Lupo SS.72- MFG 2021, excellent mid range, carefree shave, glad I bought it!
Blade: Gillette Silver blue(1) excellent blade, Sharp & Smoooth with with reasonable longevity. My Top 5 Tier blades.
Soap: Tabac, mild flowery scent with excellent lather qualities & nice post shave feel of hydration!
Brush: Yaqi lucky dice 26 mm knot- excellent lather genertator, cloud like soft tips with good back bone & good scrub + lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on my cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cols water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock Santa Marie del Fiore, nice light tobaco smoke scent + a dollop of Nivea balm. (-20C humidity low 41)
Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers = Excellent shave with my RR 2nd gen Lupo .72 with a Gillette GSB.

A good shave.

(As usual) all the team performed very nicely, including the new member. Clubman ASL.

Before today the only Clubman I'd used was VIBR. The last time I used Clubman VIBR was Friday. Purely by chance I happened upon the Every Friday is Clubman Friday thread just after that shave, so I posted my SOTD there. After a little more reading I discovered that the thread was intended for the original Clubman ASL. I PMd David @never-stop-learning to ask him about its scent — he obliged in excellent detail and I purchased a 50ml bottle straight away (unaccustomed as I am to doing such things ).

My new small bottle of Clubman ASL arrived this morning. On sniffing it the top notes were quite pleasant, but applying it post-shave was a different (and very satisfying) experience. My instant first thought was "So THIS is what a barbershop scent smells like, GREAT."

So much for me sticking to yesterday's five shaving items. But I do think I'll go on a mini Fixed Four (meaning I can choose any ASL I feel like).

This scent is complex, hard to pin down, and wholly inviting. The brush was absolutely awesome, so soft. This knot is just great. Another really fine shave from the Lupo, so smooth and comfortable.

I absolutely love Clubman ASL!
I've never been a regular user of any aftershave, but after trying this stuff I use it after every shave. I also tried Lustray Bay rum by Clubman, but the jury is still out on that one.

I also like the price per ounce compared to many others.

Shower + Ach Brito Glyce face lather and rinse
Face left: Barbasol brushless shave cream
Face right: Noxzema lather shave cream + Merkur badger brush
Merkur safety razor + Personna stainless blade
Cool washcloth rinse
Myrsol Plastic aftershave

The Barbasol is a contender, but the lathering shave cream is clear winner!
