Face Lather.
Frankensoap : Arko + Palmolive Classic Shave Sticks. (Grated)
Blade: Derby Usta. (4)
Razor: Baili BD 191.

Greetings,

A near Turkish themed shave.

The Derby Usta has performed wonderfully throughout the week, showing no signs of dulling. I could have used the Usta blade for another shave or possible more but i have retired it on a high note...Besides that, i still have a boat load of other DE blades to contend with.

Throughout the week all the razors i have used have been kindly gifted & passed on to me by friends & workmates throughout the years... Finishing off my shaving week off with the Baili BD 191 which i originally bought to build a introduction starter kit for a workmate who was curious to try out traditional wet shaving, but like alot of people he expected too much too soon and reverted back to using disposable/cartridge razors again....So he returned the Baili BD 191 razor to me along with other shaving items thanking me, saying it wasn't for him...Each to their own choice.

My only minor criticism with the Baili BD191 is the handle is slippery when wet, but i rub my fingertips with a alum block which give a better grip when shaving with it.

Like the Baili BD177 Rose Gold TTO & Kanzy K100 razors, the Baili BD 191 has a "closed head design" which gives extra protection and no risk of catching my ear lobes or under my nose with the blade ends when shaving, which i like very much about all three razors.

The long hefty teardrop handle makes the razor 'top heavy' which for my personal preference is a bonus for me as the weight of the razor does all the work with no pressure needed to be added when shaving...A good razor apart from the slippery handle.

All of my shaves this week with the Chinese clone type razors have performed well with good shaving results...Especially the Baili ~ BD177 Rose Gold TTO every shave i have had with this razor has been smooth & acceptable...It just goes to show you can get socially acceptable shaves with inexpensive shaving equipment, with good technique & shaving confidence.

A comfortable 3 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a small dollop of Wilko ~ Lemon & Black Pepper Body Butter.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.😎

Brush: Omega 11047 Mixed Midget (3)
Soap: Proraso Red
Razor: Timeless SSSlim OC [on custom Olive Wood handle] (7)
Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (4)
ASL: Proraso Red

A good shave.

3½ days growth today. I should stop being a slob and get back on the daily schedule. :001_rolle
The Timeless is definitely a good un'.

With all that time to think between shaves, I decided to give my old Proraso Red favorites some attention. Their sandalwood scent is simply THE BEST (IMO). Although it was a fine shave, I have to admit that the TFS soaps are definitely a notch (or more) higher in performance than good ol' Proraso Red (for me anyway).

On its third outing the Mixed Midget continues to do an excellent job.

Happy Shaves guys. :cornut:

SOTD THURSDAY MORNING, JANUARY 21, 2021

Well I decided after yesterday morning’s left ear incident that I would steer away from rock music as a shave background. So today’s shave was conducted with Pachelbel’s Canon in D playing in the background. The pacing and tone of this exquisite piece also served as the wedding match for my marriage and helped to create a lovely background mood! The selection of two of my favorite shaving tools certainly contributed to today’s magnificent shave. The little Ronson safety razor is a great dome shaver and the two pass ATG shave gave testimony to its great chops, smooth and velveteen results that set the stage for my favorite Japanese straight razor, the R. Saito SK3 7/8. This smiling blade’s Naniwa/12k’s buttery smooth edge delivered a lovely three pass shave, and left your happy narrator velveteen smooth, clean and refreshed with a big grateful smile on his face.

RAZOR: R. Saito SK3 7/8 (Mug), Ronson Safety Razor (Dome)
BLADE: Proline B-20 Injector
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Rooney Ebony Pure Badger
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Pre de Provence Bergamot & Thyme AS Balm.

Brush: Edwin Jagger Super Badger
Razor: Rockwell 6S with plate 4 & 2

Then applied the alum block and one minute later rinsed the alum off. After applying cold water to all exposed skin, applied Hyaluronic Acid followed by First Aid Moisturizer. No EDT since I was headed to bed.
The Results: Nice smooth shave that was BBS on the face, but just DFS on the neck. Good night all.
