I sent out a raggedy Sheraton to Back Woods Gold for replate & got it back today. I did the nickel plate on the New SC myself last night.

Todays' shave was a Left vs Right comparison. Results were comparable between the 2.

Left: Sheraton / GSB (3)
Right: Nickel New SC / Nacet (1)
Preshave: Dove Men + Care
Soap: Power Stick + Cremo Menthol Blend
Post Shave: Shavist Formula 1

4 Pass shaves for both sides. Left & right results were comparable, with maybe a slight edge to the Sheraton. Both should be 16 hour shaves.

The soap is a Menthol Cremo + Power Stick Gel blend. It may be even slicker than my Creomgens Formula. The soap leaves an oil slick in the sink, rather than soap lather & it seems to strip off accumulated soap scum from the sink surfaces.

Casual Caribbean Friday!

Happy Friday gentlemen.

Warm shower with Proraso preshave cream to kick things off.

Soap: B&M Bay Rum
Brush: Razorock Monster
Blade: German Wilkinson
Razor: 1938 Senator Replated in Rhodium
AS: Proraso Toning lotion splash and then St Johns Bay Rum for fragrance.

The Senator is one of my favorites in the den. Superb shave this morning with a nice BBS. Contrast with yesterday when I overslept and tried to do a super quick shave with just some Cremo shaving cream using my Black Beauty short on 3 with Gillette Platinum blade and ended up with a few nicks. No nicks today which shows jus how much a good soap and application can make a huge difference.

Brush is a real looker, but on the face it’s like a wet mop (I face lather ).
Does the job nevertheless, but does not live up to the “premium” designation IMHO.

Straight: Vintage R. Polla 5/8 (family heirloom I resurrected today.
Hone: Naniwa 12k
Stop: Herold solingen
Soap: De vergulde hand (under 1€/tub in the Netherlands when you buy on sale)
Brush: Simpsons Chubby 2 Best
AS: Proraso Red / Suavecito Bay Rum
Result: Well... I need to get better used to this razor after this first attempt to touch-up myself. Sudden sharpness...... well, at the end I still got a DFS out of it.
