Couldn't really enjoy the shave today... First when shaving my head with a Mach 3 I clipped myself pretty bad on the back of the head out of the blue, blood galore in the lather and several applications of a styptic pencil to make it stop. Still stings several hours later. Up until that moment it was all smooth sailing.
Then on the face shave with the Yaqi DE the Kai blade disappointed again (3rd shave)... These blades are overrated, overhyped and overpriced. The sharpness isn't there but smoothness is also lacking... Don't recommend them to anyone.
I'm a glutton for punishment sometimes.

Night out on the town with the Mrs, so I decided to reach for the Rockwell 6C. Always amazed at just how good it is but it rarely comes up in rotation. Plate 6 with a fresh Astra SS and it just carved its way quite efficiently through the beard. Today’s soap choice was RazoRock Gold which is a favourite of mine with subtle amber, leather and some spice. Wonderful three pass BBS shave.

Prep: Hot shower:/ RightGuard ~ Energy Burst Shower Gel.


Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Soap.

Brush: Semogue 1470.

Face Lather.

Soap : Albus Palmira.

Blade: Gillette Silver Blue.(2)

Frankenrazor: Gillette Tech. Head (U.K.) / Edwin Jagger DE 89 'Kelvin' Handle.

Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade Lavender + Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Boots ~ 'Freshwood' ASL. + Aftershave Balm.

I can't recall the last time that used my aluminum handled gillette tech, and forgot how much of a good shaver this little lady is ,however my only crit with her is the aluminum handle is too light for me, i much prefer a heavier handle,so today i've paired the head up with my E.J. DE 89 'Kelvin' handle.The verdict?... A superb frankenrazor,the extra weight from the E.J. handle and paired up with the gillette silver blue gave it a smooth efficient edge mowing through my stubble effortlessly the extra weight from the heavier E.J. handle made a noticeable difference to the shave.

Second outing of the Serbian Albus Palmira soap which is very like Cella with a nice almond fragrance,i bloomed it in hot tap water for 5 minutes, loaded up my damp semogue then was rewarded with a excellent face lathering, adding a small amount of water to the tips of the brush in-between each pass,leaving a nice post shave feel.

A comfortable Sunday morning 3 pass + pick ups DFS with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Boots ~ 'Freshwood' Aftershave Balm.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling devine.
