Cleaned up my *new* vintage 1955 Gillette Flare Tip and had my first shave with it tonight. Only close to a 2 day growth so it was a bit early and a somewhat aggressive shave, but what a terrific razor! New Astra SP blade, and I went with Proraso Green cream knowing I'd get an excellent lather. A DFS-BBS combo with 2 weepers around the lip as I pushed it to see how close and aggressive I could get. A mild razor but not as mild to me as my Merkur 34c, at least my first impression.

Some neck feedback with the alum so I added some Nivea balm.

Pre- Liquid Neutrogena & warm water face wash
Razor- 1955 Gillette Flare Tip
Blade- Astra SP (1)
Soap- Proraso Green tube
Brush- Omega 636 21mm silvertip
Bowl- Captain's Choice
Post- Classic Shaving alum, cold water rinse, Neutrogena Toner
AS- Nivea sensitive skin balm / Proraso Green

Good morning my friend,
What do you think of that soap ?
and what does the scent compare to?
Hello My Good Friend @Graydog! I think the DG Trismegistus is a wonderful soap base. The DG Tris creates a rich lather that stays on the face , yogurt like-similar to A&E) Wow is this soap THIRSTY!!, love how much water this soap absorbs for a proper lather, i kept adding water and more water lol. It’s very hard to dial it in (takes time) but once you do you know. It smells alot like Fine L’Orange Noir which both smell very similar to my nose of orange and grapefruit scent. It is a lovely scent as I like orange scents. Hope this helps

Very Special Saturday SOTD
So today's Shave was very special indeed !
Made possible with a little help from My Friends.
First off the Polished Titanium Timeless SB .95 , I never had used the Timeless SB Razor before :) and it was a wonderful treat Thanks to @Calm_Shaver .
The second Razor was a polished Titanium Timeless Open comb .95
The Blades for these 2 fine Razors were blades that I had never used before , again thanks to @Calm_Shaver .
I guess I could have called it my Calm Shave as the soap was also given to me by ,you guessed it @Calm_Shaver :) thanks Marius.
Now the Brushes , yeah Brushes 2 of them
First off my new Cedar with 25mm STF , I have to thank @CigarSmoka for the beautiful Wood
The second brush thank you goes to @never-stop-learning , Thanks David for the wonderful 26mm full moon synthetic knot :)
And lastly thank you @Kevy for his Post Shave ritual of using the left over lather for a good Face Wash , using 2 brushes I had enough left over lather for a head wash also
The only difference was I didn't rinse off with
Scottish water and you know what they say,, if it ain't Scottish it's Cra*
All in all it was was a marvelous Saturday SOTD with a little help from my friendsView attachment 1065820

Pre: Hot Shower

The Apollo light razor from Smart Helix is a beautifully made razor and made this shave very enjoyable. The Aloe Vera cream from Cella has a nice mild scent and the post shave feel is great. Patron Swiss aftershave left my skin feeling silky smooth.
