SOTD "FREE WEEK" December 30th - January 5th, 2020

Williams Wednesday on a Freedom Friday Shave;
  • Above The Tie (H2, R2, and M2)
  • Derby Usta (3)
  • Modern Williams Shave Soap
  • Marvy Mug
  • VdH Bowl
  • Fine Lather Bowl
  • Omega 48 Pro
  • Gentleman Jon's Alum Block
  • Williams Aqua Velva Ice Blue (US)
  • Williams Aqua Velva 5 in 1 ASB (US)
  • Million Dollar Hair Tonic
  • Clubman Firm Hold Pomade
  • DSC Sea Spray and Amber
  • Clubman Whiskey Woods Body Powder
First use of the Above the Tie razor. I am impressed. Very efficient, but smooth. It's like a slightly less aggressive Blackland Blackbird. It's now one of my top 5 razors.

The Fougere is "fern", but I really do not know what a fern smells like, so maybe I don't appreciate the scent as much as others.

Thank you for the descriptions. I am planning on getting MdC but I have to reduce my stock before doing that, and this helps.
Fern doesn't really have a scent. The perfume that gave birth to the fougere family is the Houbigant Fougère Royale from 1884 (still produced today). The perfumer, Paul Parquet, is quoted to have said: "If God gave ferns a scent, they would smell like Fougère Royale". So essentially fougere is born out of Parquet's imagination of what would fern smell like.

It has been a strange day. I was out last night so no prep for today's shave. I slept in this morning and had to grab the first things I could find. Rushed in to work to discover that I shouldn't have been there .....because I am on a long shift tomorrow.

The shave was pretty good.....I just didn't have time to enjoy it

Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the weekend..I've carried on adding soft & hardware to my SOTD set ups that hardly gave any attention for a long time. The treet 7 day platinum blades are another blade from the treet camp which i've only used on a few occasions, another smooth and sharp blade which mached up matched up with the Yintal 9306-I excellently, making a efficient smooth duo..The characteristics of them are very similar to the astra sp in sharpness, with a slightly sharper edge ,which can be a little rough on the first pass, but after that they mellow out...As always YMMV DE blade opinions are very subjective.

A very enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Nivea Men ~ Sensitive Cooling PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth and smelling devine. ;)

Enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.
